We buy a wide variety of makes and models including Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, Hewlett Packard, Konica Minolta, Lexmark, Oki, Samsung and Xerox. Whether your cartridge is brand new and factory sealed or whether the box has been opened TonerMan will still buy this from you. We categorise the condition of cartridges into 3 sections; these are: -
| New Style Packaging | The manufacturers change the packaging every few years. The current style of packaging is more valuable. |
| Old Style Packaging | These cartridges are still valuable but we pay a little less for them if they are in the old style packaging. |
| Open/Damaged Box | We purchase damaged box, open box and out of date cartridges. All we ask is that the cartridge still has its original box and is still sealed in the original cartridge bag. Unfortunately we cannot accept cartridges that are in open bags. |
Don’t worry if you are unable to decipher which category your cartridge falls in to, our website is user friendly. Once you have entered your cartridge number into our search engine pictures of this cartridge will appear in the various styles of packaging; you will then be able to compare your cartridge against the picture shown and select the appropriate one.
OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer". An OEM cartridge refers to a cartridge bearing the same brand name of the printer. Manufacturers such as Canon, Epson, Hewlett Packard etc produce printers as well as the cartridges that are used in them.
A “Compatible Cartridge” means the cartridge was manufactured to meet the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications for quality. They are manufactured with new components and are often an economical choice when compared to the OEM cartridge. Customers are happy when they find a good compatible cartridge because of the cost savings without sacrificing quality.
A ”Remanufactured Cartridge” is a cartridge that began as an empty unit; which then gets cleaned and refilled. If remanufactured correctly, it should also meet the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications for quality. A customer who is concerned about the environment will look for a remanufactured cartridge, as well as those who are looking to save costs.
Unfortunately we do not buy compatible or remanufactured cartridges. We will only purchase OEM (original equipment manufacturer).
Brother cartridge numbers are very straightforward to find, they are printed in large letters/numbers on the front of the box. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a TN-04BK. The BK stands for Black. You may also find your cartridge has other letters following the cartridge number. C will show the cartridge is Cyan (blue); the cartridge number would then be TN-04C. M will show the cartridge is Magenta (pink); the cartridge number would then be TN-04M. Y will show the cartridge is Yellow; the cartridge number would then be TN-04Y.

Canon cartridge numbers are very straightforward to find, they are printed on the front of the box. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a C-EXV21 Black (the colour behind the cartridge number deciphers the colour of the cartridge). Canon would show a blue background behind the cartridge number if the cartridge were Cyan. It would show a pink background behind the cartridge number if the cartridge were Magenta. It would show a yellow background behind the cartridge number if the cartridge were Yellow.

Dell cartridge numbers are easy to find as they are printed on the front of the box. However please be aware that the box also states whether the cartridge is a Standard Capacity or High capacity. This will determine the overall price we will pay for your cartridge. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a Dell 3110 Black Standard Capacity.

Epson cartridge numbers can be misleading. On the front of the box, it will show a 4 digit code prefixed with a letter. For example “Epson C1100 Series”. This is NOT your cartridge number but the actual Printer Model that the cartridge is used in. To find the cartridge number you need to turn the box around to the back and there will be a barcode. Just above that you will see “Product No”. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a C13SO50187, C1100 Yellow High Capacity.

HP cartridge numbers can vary a little, but they are probably the easiest to find. The cartridge number will always be printed on the front of the box both in the abbreviation form and the full cartridge number. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a Q6511A the abbreviation form is 11A, please use the full cartridge number when entering your product code in our search engine.

Konica Minolta cartridge numbers can be found on the side of the box. The front of the box shows the Printer Model, this is NOT your cartridge number. If you look at the side of the box, there will be a 10-digit barcode displayed as KONICA MINOLTA PART NUMBER; this is your cartridge number. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a 1710589-007, 2400 Cyan High Capacity.

Lexmark cartridge numbers can be found printed on the front of the box in large letters/number. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a C5220YS. The Y stands for Yellow and the S stands for Standard Capacity. You may also find your cartridge ends with xxxxxYH, in this case the Y stands for Yellow and the H stands for High Capacity.

Oki cartridge numbers can be found on the side of the box. The front of the box shows the Printer Model, this is NOT your cartridge number. On the side of the box above the bar code, it will show “OKI MAT NO” or “P/N” followed by an 8-digit code. This is your cartridge number. For example the picture below shows the cartridge as being a 42127405, C5100 Yellow High Capacity.

Samsung cartridge numbers are shown on the front of the box. However there are 3-digits that follow this number on the front of the box, but these digits can only be found on the side of the box. On the side of the box you will find a sticker with a barcode on it (you may find 2 pre-printed barcodes also, but you are looking for a label stuck onto the box that shows a barcode number). Underneath the barcode you will find “S/N NUMBER” (serial number). Above that barcode you will find the same number that appears on the front of the box but there will be 3 letters after the number, ELS or SEE, this determines what type of cartridge you have. ELS cartridges are for sale in the European market and SEE cartridges are for sale in the non-European market. We can ONLY accept cartridges with ELS. SEE cartridges are NOT compatible with European printers so therefore we CANNOT accept them. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a ML-2550DA/ELS

Xerox show the printer model on the front of the box, this is not your cartridge number. The cartridge number is shown as “REORDER NUMBER”. The picture below shows the cartridge as being a 108R00725.
PLEASE NOTE: We CANNOT accept any cartridges that have the wording "METERED SOLID INK"

The manufacturers change the packaging every few years. The current style of packaging is more valuable. The picture below shows HP’s latest new style packaging. The colours are a light blue and white.

These cartridges are still valuable but we pay a little less for them if they are in the old style packaging. The picture below shows HP’s old style packaging. The colours are dark blue and white.

We purchase damaged box, open box and out of date cartridges. All we ask is that the cartridge still has its original box and is still sealed in the original cartridge bag. Unfortunately we cannot accept cartridges that are in open bags. Damaged boxes can range from label damage, ripped boxes, crushed boxes and unsealed/open boxes.
